Project

ACCOR hotel, Moscow

Client

GVA Sawyer / ACCOR

Description

The design team of AukettFitzroyRobinson, led by Mirosław Leśnik, Rafał Depowski and Piotr Wisłocki, commissioned the international developer GVA Sawyer to design a unique hotel of the ACCOR chain. The hotel is located in a part of the historic quarter in Moscow, not far from the Red Square. Due to the unique requirements of an 18th-century historic building, unique technical and functional solutions were applied. All public spaces and hotel rooms have an individual character adapted to both the historical requirements of the facility and the strict requirements of the ACCOR hotel chain. An additional challenge of the project was the necessity to adjust the requirements of the Russian construction law, the historical conditions of the building and the expectations of the economic efficiency of the hotel operator.

The design team performed all design phases from the initial concept to the tender design along with detailed implementation specifications. A complete interior design was also made for all public spaces of the hotel and for most hotel rooms (almost each of the more than 200 rooms) had a different configuration.
