The scheme retains as much of the existing structure as possible, creating homes with spectacular internal spaces, and a character blending the site’s unique industrial history with a variety of ad hoc contemporary and salvaged elements. The development was shortlisted for a national AJ Retrofit Award, and has set a new standard for the creative adaptation of existing buildings in the Essex residential market.
